History of OCCPO

The OCCPO was established in law by a unanimous vote of both the Colorado House and Senate in 2010. (Senate Bill 10-171). The Office was created at the recommendation of the Child Welfare Action Committee established by former Governor Bill Ritter. The office opened in May 2011 and is managed and hosted by the National Association of Counsel for Children (NACC) located in Aurora, CO.
